Chris Gronkowski heads to Denver in exchange for Cassius Vaughn.

The Denver Broncos on Wednesday acquired fullback Chris Gronkowski from the Indianapolis Colts in exchange for cornerback Cassius Vaughn, Executive Vice President of Football Operations John Elway announced.

Gronkowski (6-foot-2, 245 pounds) is a third-year player who has seen action in 21 games (7 starts) with Dallas (2010) and Indianapolis (2011). His career totals include five rushes for 17 yards (3.4 avg.) and seven receptions for 35 yards (5.0 avg.) with one touchdown.

Gronkowski has two brothers on NFL rosters: Dan, a tight end with the Cleveland Browns who played 12 games (4 starts) with the Broncos in 2010, and Rob, a tight end for the New England Patriots, who was named an NFL first-team All-Pro selection in 2011.

A three-year letterwinner at Williamsville (N.Y.) North High School, Gronkowski was born on Dec. 26, 1986, in Buffalo, N.Y.
