Peyton Manning held a news conference at Broncos headquarters in Dove Valley

Local, state and national media jammed the team room of the Denver Broncos headquarters in Dove Valley on Tuesday.  Owner Pat Bowlen said it was a big day for  the team and VP of Football operations John Elway said it was his greatest momnent in his new managment career.

Elway described getting a phone call from Manning on Monday morning and taking a deep breath while coach John Fox who was in his office looked on.

When Manning told Elway he was coming to Denver, No. 7 says he gave a thumbs-up.  John Fox jumped out of his seat and stiffled a scream of joy.

Manning says he waited for a feeling in his gut about where he wanted to go. He felt the fit was good with Elway, Fox, offensive corrdinator Mike McCoy and  Broncos owner Pat Bowlen.

Manning is serious about winning in Denver. He was already looking at film and playbooks before his news conference. Manning was asked if his goal is to win a Super Bowl during his time with the Broncos.  He replied "this is about winning, this about now"

Manning says he plans to get to work right away and that could include some camps he will run to get on the same page with his receivers.

John Elway says he has talked withTim Tebow about what's next for the young quarterback.  He described Tebow as being disappointed but gracious. The Broncos will explore trading Tebow.  Elway says wishes only the best for Tebow whether it is as a backup in Denver or if he plays for another team.

Peyton Manning says he respects Tebow for the person he is and for the job he did getting the Broncos into the playoffs last season.

Some loyal Broncos fans showed up to welcome Manning to the Broncos. One fan had even fashioned his own Manning jersey.
